Brisbane French Festival - July 14th, 2012 - BE IN FRANCE FOR A DAY
Get ready to immerse yourself in French and French-inspired music, cuisine, wine, culture, entertainment, products and services to celebrate Bastille Day or La Fête Nationale.
On Saturday July 14th 2012, The Brisbane French Festival, presented by Total, invites you to “Be in France for a Day” and celebrate all things French at the biggest French Festival in Australia. This FREE event takes place in the Cultural Forecourt at south Bank Brisbane from 9am to 10pm.
Over the last two years, the Brisbane French Festival has seen over 40,000 people experience the delights of the French culture and 2012 promises to be even more exciting.
In one day you can experience the best in French entertainment across two stages with Paris Dreaming, Laique, Sylvie Boisel, Gonzalo Guitar Duo and the ever popular Cancan dancers. There’s also French inspired fashion parades throughout the day.
The Kids Corner returns once again for 2012 tailoring French activities for kids of any age. Face painting, Cancan workshops, French culinary demonstrations, puppet demonstrations and more.
New to 2012 is the Art and Artisan’s Pavilion as the Brisbane French Festival pays tribute to the creative craftsmen and talented artists, bubbling with ideas and new concepts, who use their savoir faire to produce uniquely traditional or bravely futuristic works of art. The Art and Artisans Pavilion explores the artistic francophone culture and its influence in Australia: Painter, guilder, sculptor, fashion designer, perfume creator, decorator, photographer, ceramist - will have the opportunity to share with you their art and skills.
Some of the best French stores from around the country will be there to show you how to live the French life. A dazzling collection of French products and services will be available as well as the opportunity to indulge in the legendary French food and wine.
